MTV VMAs 2013 performers list: Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Miley Cyrus, Robin Thicke, Katy Perry, Kanye West, Bruno Mars and more
The Moon men are back! This Sunday hails the return of the most outrageous awards show of the year, the ‘VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS’ live from the Barclays Center in BROOKLYN, New York.
Lady Gaga will open the show with a world exclusive performance of new single, ‘Applause’. Other performances include Macklmore and ryan Lewis, Bruno Mars, Miley Cyrus,Katy Perry. No one can forget the 2009, Kanye West stint interrupting Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech for Best Female Video. Grabbing the mike from Swift, he protested that Beyoncé should have won the award. “I’m sorry, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time,” Maybe fatherhood has change him…. ok maybe not. With no host this year these performances will take center stage.
Justin Timberlake is expected to perform at the award show, and will also be presented with the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award. Past recipients of the award include Michael Jackson himself, Madonna, R.E.M., and the Beastie Boys.
Katy Perry, who has not performed at the MTV VMA’s since 2009, will sing her first single “Roar” from her upcoming album “Prism”.
Miley Cyrus will perform “We Can’t Stop,” which has been nominated for Best Female Video.
Robin Thicke will also perform his single “Blurred Lines,” which has topped charts across the world.
Kanye West will be performing for the seventh time at the award show this year with his single “Black Skinhead.”
Bruno Mars is also taking to the stage with a new single from his album, Unorthodox Jukebox. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis will also sing “Same Love.”
This year’s nominees for Video of the Year include Justin Timberlake’s “Mirrros,” Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Wanz. “Thrift Shop,” Bruno Mars’ “Locked Out of Heaven.” Robin Thicke feat. T. I. and Pharrell “Blurred Lines” and Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble.”
